Buchanan rallies to repeat at The Clash

Jake Levatino thought he had ruined second-ranked Buchanan’s title chances Saturday at The Clash. His team led No. 24 Park Hill (Mo.) 31-28 heading into the final bout in the opening round of the championship series. And Levatino struck first with a takedown against Devin Winston, the top-ranked 170-pounder in Missouri. 

 
 

Century Draws Buchanan, CA at Clash XV

The Century Patriots, currently ranked third in the ND Headlock Class A Dual Power Rankings, have been given an eight seed in The Clash XV Nation High School Wrestling Duals, set to take place Dec 30-31 in Rochester, MN.  The Patriots will wrestle top seed Buchanan, CA in the first round of Pool A Friday at 9:00 AM.


WRESTLING: Tigers ready for the Clash in Minn.

The Commerce High School wrestling team is nearing the end of its toughest stretch of the season.  Since Dec. 9, the Tigers have competed in two tournaments in Tennessee, one at Morgan County and the Kyle Maynard Duals at Collins Hill High School. 


Plattsmouth to Compete at The Clash

2016 marks the 15th year of The Clash Dual tournament that is held in Rochester, Minnesota. The No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 21, No. 24, No. 26, No. 37, and No. 50 nationally ranked high school teams are competing from 16 different states. Plattsmouth is the only Nebraska team out of the 32 teams competing at the tournament this year.

Clash XV National High School Wrestling Duals: what to expect

The 15th edition of The Clash: National High School Wrestling duals features yet another most excellent field. It is anchored by three teams ranked within the top five nationally: No. 2 Buchanan (Calif.), No. 3 St. Edward (Ohio), and No. 4 Lake Highland Prep (Fla.). 


Pewaukee wrestling hopes for another magical season

There's no denying who will be front and center this season for the Pewaukee wrestling team. PHS, a perennial contender to make it to the state team tournament, returns two state champions in seniors Jacob Raschka and Blaze Beltran.


Park Hill wrestling wins home dual tournament

TJ Hullaby wants to believe that a good start can lead to an even better finish. Agonizingly close to berths in the Class 4 Missouri State Wrestling Championships each of the past two seasons, Park Hill’s experienced senior wants to taste the success he’s so often seen from teammates during a run of four consecutive team state championships.


Bill Olson Inducted into MN Wrestling Hall of Fame

Minnesota Wrestling has announced Mr. Bill Olson as it's newest inductee into the MN Wrestling Hall of Fame!

A little background on Bill Olson:

Bill Olson, Contributor

Graduate of LeRoy-Ostrander High School  (1976).  3 sport athlete and a 6 year letter winner in wrestling.  District champ and a state participant in 1976.  Bill wrestled 4 years in college 2 at Waldorf Junior College and 2 at Winona State University finishing in 1980.  Bill received a teaching and coaching degree at WSU.  Bill taught for a couple years and then went in a different direction.  Bill is now a union painter/vinyl hanger working in the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Bill has been a wrestling official in Minnesota for 28 years, part of the Southern Minnesota Wrestling Officials Association, he presently serves as the treasure.  Bill has been very active in helping at the youth level officiating and recruiting officials for the NYWA Tourney.  Bill is very proud to have served as the Head Official of The Clash Wrestling Tournament for several years.  Bill helps with rule interpretations, weigh ins, and most importantly the recruiting and retaining of officials from all over the United States.  He is pleased to say many of these officials and out of state coaches have become very good friends.

Bill has been chosen to work the state tournament 20 times.  He has been the recipient of MSHSL Distinguish Service Award for officials and been inducted into the Region One Hall of Fame.

Bill has been married to his wife Bobbi for 33 years and has 3 children, twins Brady and Breanna and Brittlyn.
